Kimberly Law Kelly
November 29, 2023
It is with an incredibly deeply broken heart that the East Coast Gasser family shares that one of our own, Kimberly Law Kelly, has lost her fierce battle with cancer. Kim passed away peacefully at home at the end of November, surrounded by love and light.
Kim lit up every room (and race track!) she came upon. Kim’s spark and fiery energy will never be lost. The pits may be a little quieter and more PG from here on out, but not for us. We know Kim will be there in spirit forever and always, both watching over and haunting us in the best way only Kim could.

John “Jack” F. Olcott Sr.
August 26, 1938 - February 13, 2023
The entire ECG family mourns the loss of Jack, our club’s original founding father. Without Jack, the East Coast Gassers would not be what it is today.
Jack was an avid drag racer all his life. He raced at New York National Speedway in the 60s and on the nostalgia circuits in the 2000s with his son and grandson.
Godspeed, dear friend. We’ll see you in ‘the pits.’

Henry Van Houten
July 28, 1948 - May 31, 2022
Henry joined ECG in 2021 and was a devoted member, making many of our races for the ‘21 season.
Although new to ECG, Henry has been part of our racing family long before—he spent much of the ‘60s & ‘70s racing local dragstrips and there’s even a racecar he helped build in The Don Garlitts Museum of Drag Racing in Ocala, FL.Our hearts go out to Henry’s family during this incredibly difficult time—Henry will be missed by us all!

Marsha Deming
December 29, 1953 - July 11, 2020
Marsha was the beloved mother of our longtime member, Clayton Deming. She may not have been behind the wheel herself—but it’s safe to say that her support and love for Clayton’s passion for racing was felt just as strong as the rumbling of his ‘64 Ford Falcon.
You are loved and missed, Marsha! -
Bob "Pop" Carson
May 22, 1947 - March 21, 2020
“Pop” was a longtime member of ECG's New Jersey Chapter and since he was young, he loved building his own race cars.
Through the years, he gained countless friendships in the drag racing community and he was the great mechanic behind "Carson Competition Racing".

October 23, 1954 - November 11, 2017
“Dad—your whole Pit Crew is here. We’re all standing here in the Water Box, staring, confused, at the Tree. You Red Lit. You Red Lit so bad. But we know you Ran It Out the Back Door, as you’d say. Godspeed, Dad. Don’t Break-Out your Dial-In, we’ll see you in the Pits.”

"Turd" Stewart
January, 2024
Whenever you’d see ECG member, Dennis Stewart, rounding the corner on his cart, you knew his buddy Turd wasn’t far behind.
Turd, you were the goodest boy with the best style! -
Jesel Carson
September 2, 2015 – June, 2022
Beloved companion of longtime ECG members, Ron & Kim Carson and forever member of the Carson Crew—Jesel and her big heart are dearly missed.
Here at ECG, our fur family is real family, and Jesel was no different. She added two furry children of her own to the Carson Crew a few years ago and recently, lost her hard battle to an aggressive form of cancer. Godspeed, Jesel, and as always, let ‘er rip! We’ll see you at that Rainbow Bridge, good girl! -

Kenzie (also known as Mack-Z, Makeeks, the Woman, and many more) was, and forever will be, a beloved member of the #MagersFamilyRacing crew. With their loss, their original crew chief, Wayne T. Magers regained his co-pilot.
Driving together was one of Wayne and Kenzie’s favorite pastimes, and now they’re reunited with Kenzie in the shotgun seat, forever to watch over our Club.
Godspeed, Kenzie—we’ll see you at the Rainbow Bridge, ready to race ya for some tater tots!
